BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – BROKING

PURPOSE:

To drive business growth through strategic development, leadership and management of insurance broking relationships. The role is responsible for expanding the client base, maintaining strong broker and cultivating high -value client relationships, negotiating profitable business, and ensuring the achievement of the set sales targets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key area ·        Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks
Business Development & Sales

 

·        Develop and execute strategies to increase the company’s footprint and competitiveness through brokers.

·        Build a pipeline of Prospects, acquire, and onboard new brokers and clients.

·        Negotiate terms, pricing, and service agreements to win profitable business.

·        Achieve set revenue, premium, and profitability targets.

  • Identify and pursue new markets and partnership opportunities.
  • Develop and manage sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Pitch and close deals with potential clients.
  • Building & developing strong strategic partnerships/relationships within assigned broking market and channels

·        Drive profitable business for the company and Achieve an annual Production Targets

·        Design and develop need-based products for the Broker market;

·        Conduct market activations and storms in strategic locations with respective brokers through visits or other means;

·        Prepare market intelligence reports on products and services.

·        Monitor broker performance and ensure achievement of set production targets.

Broker Relationship Management

 

·        Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with brokers.

·        Provide training and support to brokers on company products and services.

·        Act as primary liaison between the company and brokers, ensuring clear communication, effective collaboration and resolving queries promptly

·        Provide ongoing support to brokers regarding products, underwriting processes and claims management.

·        Conduct regular broker visits, check -ins and feedback sessions.

·        Monitor broker performance and provide regular feedback and support.

  • Manage, strengthen and expand relationships with insurance brokers to drive premium growth, increase markets share and ensure service excellence.
  • Provide marketing and sales materials to brokers
Market Research & Intelligence

 

·        Gather feedback from brokers on market trends, competitor products and client need

·        Provide insights to underwriting and product development teams to refine product offerings.

·        Monitor industry development to ensure the company remains competitive.

·        Conduct market intelligence to identify new business opportunities and trends.

Compliance & Risk Management

 

·        Ensure all broker business complies with insurance regulations and company policies.

·        Monitor adherence to contractual and service-level agreements with brokers.

·        Manage risks associated with broker relationships and business acquisition.

  • Conduct due diligence before on-boarding new brokers.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
Reporting & Strategy ·        Prepare, present or submit periodic sales on broker performance premium income and market trends.

·        Prepare annual strategic plans and budgets.

·        Recommend actions to improve broker engagement and sales outcomes.
